ACTOR ON POLL DUTY

It was a suprise for the electorate, especially the youth, of a booth in Kozhikode parliament constituency to see Santosh Pandit, a Malayalam film actor, performing the duty of a poll official.Pandit, working in the State Irrigation Department, had acted in 'Krishnanum Radhayum' in the lead role and handled almost all aspects of the film's making.
Pandit sat along with the other officials in the bench and was doing work as polling official of Povattuparamb A L P School booth. Along with other officials, he marked the 'ink' on the fingers of the voters after they cast their franchise.
Despite the booth not having a crowd of voters, there were people outside to have a glimpse of the actor.Quite a few children had also accompanied their parents to see the actor, doing the job of a poll official for the second time. Pandit was poll official in the last election in a booth at Kadalundi in Kozhikode.
